About Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College
Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College Palakkad, India is situated in a serene environment in the valley of Western Ghats Kerala, have a vision of integrated educational complex in the heart of Palakkad, spread over a vast green campus.
It is managed by Ahalia International Foundation, A Unit of Ahalia Health, Heritage and Knowledge Village is an integral part of establishing a holistic avenue for higher learning aiming at a Deemed University in the near future. Near to PKD-CBE National Highway Spread over vast greenery, landscape.
Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College was established in 2010 after realizing real potential of Ahalia Ayurveda Hospital to flourish in to an eminent Gurukula. The Hospital was founded in the honorable memory of late Vazhoor Sreenivasan Vaidyar. During its 8 years of inception, Ahalia Ayurveda Hospital has flourished into a 100 bedded multi-specialty hospital and has been instrumental in taking Ayurveda to the common man with better reach and results. Now Ahalia Ayurveda College is functioning with 14 Departments and more than 50 teaching faculties. Fully fledged digital Library, Ayurveda Medicine Manufacturing Unit (AMMU), rich herbal garden spread over more than 40 acres of land with over 1000 species are our highlights. Here we are providing value based Ayurveda education in order to make skilled and efficient Ayurveda experts to contribute to the field of research, academics and therapeutics.
Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a science of life and not a meretherapy. Ayu means life and veda means knowledge. It is said that the Lord Brahma himself transferred his knowledge of life to the sages many thousands years back. Ayurveda, thus is considered as a divine science and is a upaveda of Atharvaveda.The science was then taught to various group of sages,discussed in seminars, subjected to tests and experiments and transferred to knowledge seekers over the years during different periods like vedic period,puranic period, pre independence and post independence. ‘Ayu’ means life span. ‘Veda’ means knowledge ‘Ayurveda’ means knowledge of life.
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery
The college imparts instructions for BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) also titled Ayurvedacharya. BAMS degree course is recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, New Delhi, Approved by Department of AYUSH, Govt. of India & affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences, Govt. of Kerala.

- Annual Intake of college is 60 seats. Out of this 42 seats are Merit Quota 9 seats are All India Quota and balance 9 seats are NRI Quota. All the candidates should qualified in the NEET entrance Examinations and entrance examinations conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Kerala.
