Our History

Inception & Early Years

Dr. K.V. Vijayan Institute of Ayurveda Medical Science (VIAMS ) was founded in 1974 by Late Dr. K.V. Vijayan as a Vaidyasala (traditional health clinic). We have the legacy of a rich and extraordinary healthcare tradition comprising four decades that follows 5000+ years of Ayurveda disciplines. VIAMS originated as a Vaidyasala, later established as a clinic, and developed as a full-fledged hospital facility in the early 21st century, nestled in the beautiful district of Palakkad in Kerala.
