Course Overview

The Offline Ayurvedic Herbology and Pharmacology course offers comprehensive training in the identification, properties, preparation, and therapeutic application of Ayurvedic medicinal substances. The program combines classical Ayurvedic theory with practical, hands-on learning.

Learners gain a strong foundation in Ayurvedic pharmacological principles, including understanding medicinal substances, their actions, potency, and appropriate usage. Emphasis is placed on traditional preparation methods to ensure safety, efficacy, and authenticity.

Through practical sessions and garden visits, participants develop the skills required to identify raw herbs, prepare formulations, and apply Ayurvedic pharmacology principles in clinical and wellness settings.

Duration: 1 Month

Class Schedule: Monday to Friday (Saturday & Sunday – Holiday)

Course Commencement: Every month on the first working day

Mode of Training: Offline (In-person classes)

Curriculum Highlights

  • Fundamental concepts of Ayurvedic pharmacology (Dravya, Aushadam, Rasa)
  • Understanding Guna, Veerya, Vipaka, Karma, and Prabhava
  • Timing of administration and duration of action (Saviryathaavadhi)
  • Medicinal preservation methods (Aushadhasamrakshna Vidhi)
  • Properties and therapeutic uses of common Ayurvedic herbs
  • Plant morphology and quality assessment of raw drugs

Practical Training

  • Pancha Vidha Kashaya Kalpana (five types of decoction preparations)
  • Swarasa, Kalka, Choorna, and Kwatha / Kashaya preparations
  • Sneha Kalpana (medicated oils and ghee)
  • Anjanam (herbal eye collyrium preparation)
  • Guggulu Kalpana and Avalehya preparations
  • Preparation of herbal balms, drinks, smokes, and topical formulations
  • Garden visits for herb identification, harvesting, and processing

Assessment & Certification

Final Assessment

A mandatory offline examination will be conducted at the end of the course to assess participants’ theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of Ayurvedic herbology and pharmacology.

Certification

A Certificate in Ayurvedic Herbology and Pharmacology will be issued upon successful completion of the program. The certificate will not be issued if the course is incomplete, the examination is not attended, or if there are any outstanding payments.
