Ashtamgam Ayurveda Chikitsalayam & Vidyapeedham (AACV) is an institute of a class of its own established under the aegis of Ashtanga Educational Trust (AET) in the year 2011 which is dedicated for the cause of reviving the legacy of a great tradition of Ayurveda. It started its functioning as an OP consultation unit with small treatment facility in the year 2013 and at present it has one of the best Ayurvedic teaching hospitals in the state of Kerala, Ashtamgam Ayurveda Chikitsalayam, which is attached to a residential ayurvedic school, Ashtamgam Ayurveda Vidyapeedham.
AACV is established with the motto of reviving the legacy of a great tradition and is dedicated to work hard for achieving its target. Envisaged to evolve as a model centre of ayurvedic education in the country, it has taken care of each and every step in its development from the square one; and has the best-in-class infrastructure and manpower in all sections of its functioning.

The Department of Prasootitantra at Ashtamgam Ayurveda Chikitsalayam & Vidyapeedham is committed to empowering students with a comprehensive understanding of Ayurvedic perspectives on gynaecological and obstetrical conditions. Our vision is to prepare students to excel in healthcare interventions and clinical practice, particularly concerning female health. Through a variety of teaching methodologies aligned with CCIM guidelines, including lecture sessions, practical training, Swadhyaya sessions for deepening understanding of ancient texts, small group discussions, clinical postings, and hospital duties, we ensure that our students are well-equipped to address the challenges in the healthcare sector, especially pertaining to women’s health. In addition to rigorous academic training, we engage our students in various activities both within and outside the campus, including academic series, social activities, and extramural research projects, fostering a holistic understanding of public health issues related to women and contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practice in the field of Prasootitantra.

Spread in 11.5 acres of land in a hillside, Ashtamgam campus is situated in the lush greenery of Vavanoor in Nagalassery Panchayath surrounded by the historical villages of Koottanad, Thrithala, Mezhathoor, Peringode and Chathanoor. Famous for a number of legendary Vaidya families like Vaidyamodhom, CNS, Poomully and the like, this cluster of villages form the corner stone of Kerala’s unique ayurvedic legacy.
