Ayurvedic Perspective
In Ayurveda, Alzheimer’s disease is correlated with Smriti Bhramsha (loss of memory). It is believed to arise due to consumption of unwholesome food dominated by Tamas and Rajas, irregular physical activities, and vitiation of Doshas affecting both the mind and body.
Ayurvedic Treatment Approach
Alzheimer’s disease is considered a Yapya Roga in Ayurveda, meaning it can be managed but not completely cured. Early diagnosis and timely intervention can significantly improve quality of life.
- Panchakarma therapies
- Ayurvedic medications
- Yoga and supportive lifestyle practices
- Long-term management to slow disease progression
